In addition to his performing endeavors and college teaching, Yoshi works with private students on a weekly basis. While most of his private students are of elementary, middle, and high school age, Yoshi believes that you can always learn to improve your skills at any age. Yoshi’s students have gone on to receive scholarships in some of the best universities in America, double major in music and other subjects, perform in orchestras across the country, do well in professional auditions, and play professionally. Most importantly, Yoshi’s students have gone on to develop a life-long love for music regardless of their profession.

Yoshi’s teaching studio schedule is currently full and will have an opening for 1 more student starting in 2024-2025 school year.

Teaching is Yoshi’s true passion. From complete beginners to college students and adults, Yoshi enjoys teaching bass on at all levels. While primarily teaching classical bass, Yoshi is comfortable working with students play across all genres- pop, jazz, rock, fiddle, and more!

Yoshi and his students perform for retirement communities. Performing opportunities are important for young bassists to develop their ability to prepare solo works for weeks leading up to the performance, get up on stage and speak about their selected works to an audience, and perform the work.
